¶It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it around it.

¶It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it around it.

Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden (now the Chaldeans were against the city around it); and the king went by the way of the Arabah.

4Kgs 25:214Kgs 25:21καὶ ἔπαισεν αὐτοὺς βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτοὺς ἐν Δεβλαθα ἐν γῇ Αιμαθ καὶ ἀπῳκίσθη Ιουδας ἐπάνωθεν τῆς γῆς αὐτοῦ2Kgs 25:21
The king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.
222Kgs 25:2222וְהָעָ֗ם הַנִּשְׁאָר֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ יְהוּדָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִשְׁאִ֔יר נְבֽוּכַדְנֶאצַּ֖ר מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֑ל וַיַּפְקֵ֣ד עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אֶת־גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן־אֲחִיקָ֥ם בֶּן־שָׁפָֽן׃ פ 2Kgs 25:22
As for the people who were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, governor.
4Kgs 25:224Kgs 25:22καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὁ καταλειφθεὶς ἐν γῇ Ιουδα οὓς κατέλιπεν Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ κατέστησεν ἐπ’ αὐτῶν τὸν Γοδολιαν υἱὸν Αχικαμ υἱοῦ Σαφαν2Kgs 25:22

232Kgs 25:2323וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ֩ כָל־שָׂרֵ֨י הַחֲיָלִ֜ים הֵ֣מָּה וְהָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים כִּֽי־הִפְקִ֤יד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל֙ אֶת־גְּדַלְיָ֔הוּ וַיָּבֹ֥אוּ אֶל־גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ הַמִּצְפָּ֑ה וְיִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן־נְתַנְיָ֡ה וְיוֹחָנָ֣ן בֶּן־קָ֠רֵחַ וּשְׂרָיָ֨ה בֶן־תַּנְחֻ֜מֶת הַנְּטֹפָתִ֗י וְיַֽאֲזַנְיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן־הַמַּ֣עֲכָתִ֔י הֵ֖מָּה וְאַנְשֵׁיהֶֽם׃2Kgs 25:23
Now when all the captains of the forces, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah governor, they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.
4Kgs 25:234Kgs 25:23καὶ ἤκουσαν πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτῶν ὅτι κατέστησεν βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος τὸν Γοδολιαν καὶ ἦλθον πρὸς Γοδολιαν εἰς Μασσηφαθ καὶ Ισμαηλ υἱὸς Ναθανιου καὶ Ιωαναν υἱὸς Καρηε καὶ Σαραιας υἱὸς Θανεμαθ ὁ Νετωφαθίτης καὶ Ιεζονιας υἱὸς τοῦ Μαχαθι αὐτοὶ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτῶν2Kgs 25:23

Gedaliah swore to them and to their men, and said to them, “Don’t be afraid because of the servants of the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.”
4Kgs 25:244Kgs 25:24καὶ ὤμοσεν Γοδολιας αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς ἀνδράσιν αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς μὴ φοβεῖσθε πάροδον τῶν Χαλδαίων καθίσατε ἐν τῇ γῇ καὶ δουλεύσατε τῷ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος καὶ καλῶς ἔσται ὑμῖν2Kgs 25:24
Gedaliah swore to them and to their men, and said to them, “Don’t be afraid because of the servants of the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.”

¶But it happened in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal seed came, and ten men with him, and struck Gedaliah, so that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldeans that were with him at Mizpah.
4Kgs 25:254Kgs 25:25καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ ἑβδόμῳ μηνὶ ἦλθεν Ισμαηλ υἱὸς Ναθανιου υἱοῦ Ελισαμα ἐκ τοῦ σπέρματος τῶν βασιλέων καὶ δέκα ἄνδρες μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν Γοδολιαν καὶ ἀπέθανεν καὶ τοὺς Ιουδαίους καὶ τοὺς Χαλδαίους οἳ ἦσαν μετ’ αὐτοῦ εἰς Μασσηφαθ2Kgs 25:25

It happened in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
4Kgs 25:274Kgs 25:27καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ τριακοστῷ καὶ ἑβδόμῳ ἔτει τῆς ἀποικεσίας τοῦ Ιωακιμ βασιλέως Ιουδα ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ μηνὶ ἑβδόμῃ καὶ εἰκάδι τοῦ μηνὸς ὕψωσεν Ευιλμαρωδαχ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν Ιωακιμ βασιλέως Ιουδα καὶ ἐξήγαγεν αὐτὸν ἐξ οἴκου φυλακῆς αὐτοῦ2Kgs 25:27

4Kgs 25:284Kgs 25:28καὶ ἐλάλησεν μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἀγαθὰ καὶ ἔδωκεν τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ ἐπάνωθεν τῶν θρόνων τῶν βασιλέων τῶν μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐν Βαβυλῶνι2Kgs 25:28
and he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,

and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:
4Kgs 25:294Kgs 25:29καὶ ἠλλοίωσεν τὰ ἱμάτια τῆς φυλακῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἤσθιεν ἄρτον διὰ παντὸς ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ2Kgs 25:29
and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:
302Kgs 25:3030וַאֲרֻחָת֗וֹ אֲרֻחַ֨ת תָּמִ֧יד נִתְּנָה־לּ֛וֹ מֵאֵ֥ת הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ דְּבַר־י֣וֹם בְּיוֹמ֑וֹ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֥י חַיָּֽו׃ 2Kgs 25:30
and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him of the king, every day a portion, all the days of his life.
4Kgs 25:304Kgs 25:30καὶ ἡ ἑστιατορία αὐτοῦ ἑστιατορία διὰ παντὸς ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ἐξ οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως λόγον ἡμέρας ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ αὐτοῦ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ2Kgs 25:30
