Behold, seven other cattle came up after them out of the river, ugly and thin, and stood by the other cattle on the brink of the river.

The ugly and thin cattle ate up the seven sleek and fat cattle. So Pharaoh awoke.

He slept and dreamed a second time: and behold, seven heads of grain came up on one stalk, healthy and good.

The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy and full ears. Pharaoh awoke, and behold, it was a dream.

Gn 41:8Gn 41:8ἐγένετο δὲ πρωὶ καὶ ἐταράχθη ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀποστείλας ἐκάλεσεν πάντας τοὺς ἐξηγητὰς Αἰγύπτου καὶ πάντας τοὺς σοφοὺς αὐτῆς καὶ διηγήσατο αὐτοῖς Φαραω τὸ ἐνύπνιον καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἀπαγγέλλων αὐτὸ τῷ ΦαραωGn 41:8

¶Then the chief cupbearer spoke to Pharaoh, saying, “I remember my faults today.

10Gn 41:1010פַּרְעֹ֖ה קָצַ֣ף עַל־עֲבָדָ֑יו וַיִּתֵּ֨ן אֹתִ֜י בְּמִשְׁמַ֗ר בֵּ֚ית שַׂ֣ר הַטַּבָּחִ֔ים אֹתִ֕י וְאֵ֖ת שַׂ֥ר הָאֹפִֽים׃Gn 41:10
Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, me and the chief baker.
Gn 41:10Gn 41:10Φαραω ὠργίσθη τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθετο ἡμᾶς ἐν φυλακῇ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ ἀρχιμαγείρου ἐμέ τε καὶ τὸν ἀρχισιτοποιόνGn 41:10
Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, me and the chief baker.
11Gn 41:1111וַנַּֽחַלְמָ֥ה חֲל֛וֹם בְּלַ֥יְלָה אֶחָ֖ד אֲנִ֣י וָה֑וּא אִ֛ישׁ כְּפִתְר֥וֹן חֲלֹמ֖וֹ חָלָֽמְנוּ׃Gn 41:11
We dreamed a dream in one night, I and he. We dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.
Gn 41:11Gn 41:11καὶ εἴδομεν ἐνύπνιον ἐν νυκτὶ μιᾷ ἐγώ τε καὶ αὐτός ἕκαστος κατὰ τὸ αὑτοῦ ἐνύπνιον εἴδομενGn 41:11
We dreamed a dream in one night, I and he. We dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.
12Gn 41:1212וְשָׁ֨ם אִתָּ֜נוּ נַ֣עַר עִבְרִ֗י עֶ֚בֶד לְשַׂ֣ר הַטַּבָּחִ֔ים וַנְּ֨סַפֶּר־ל֔וֹ וַיִּפְתָּר־לָ֖נוּ אֶת־חֲלֹמֹתֵ֑ינוּ אִ֥ישׁ כַּחֲלֹמ֖וֹ פָּתָֽר׃Gn 41:12
There was with us there a young man, a Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard, and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams. To each man according to his dream he interpreted.
Gn 41:12Gn 41:12ἦν δὲ ἐκεῖ μεθ’ ἡμῶν νεανίσκος παῖς Εβραῖος τοῦ ἀρχιμαγείρου καὶ διηγησάμεθα αὐτῷ καὶ συνέκρινεν ἡμῖνGn 41:12
There was with us there a young man, a Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard, and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams. To each man according to his dream he interpreted.
13Gn 41:1313וַיְהִ֛י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּֽתַר־לָ֖נוּ כֵּ֣ן הָיָ֑ה אֹתִ֛י הֵשִׁ֥יב עַל־כַּנִּ֖י וְאֹת֥וֹ תָלָֽה׃Gn 41:13
It happened, as he interpreted to us, so it was: he restored me to my office, and he hanged him.”
Gn 41:13Gn 41:13ἐγενήθη δὲ καθὼς συνέκρινεν ἡμῖν οὕτως καὶ συνέβη ἐμέ τε ἀποκατασταθῆναι ἐπὶ τὴν ἀρχήν μου ἐκεῖνον δὲ κρεμασθῆναιGn 41:13
It happened, as he interpreted to us, so it was: he restored me to my office, and he hanged him.”
14Gn 41:1414וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח פַּרְעֹה֙ וַיִּקְרָ֣א אֶת־יוֹסֵ֔ף וַיְרִיצֻ֖הוּ מִן־הַבּ֑וֹר וַיְגַלַּח֙ וַיְחַלֵּ֣ף שִׂמְלֹתָ֔יו וַיָּבֹ֖א אֶל־פַּרְעֹֽה׃Gn 41:14
¶Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon. He shaved himself, changed his clothing, and came in to Pharaoh.
Gn 41:14Gn 41:14ἀποστείλας δὲ Φαραω ἐκάλεσεν τὸν Ιωσηφ καὶ ἐξήγαγον αὐτὸν ἐκ τοῦ ὀχυρώματος καὶ ἐξύρησαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἤλλαξαν τὴν στολὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς ΦαραωGn 41:14

Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”
Gn 41:15Gn 41:15εἶπεν δὲ Φαραω τῷ Ιωσηφ ἐνύπνιον ἑώρακα καὶ ὁ συγκρίνων οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτό ἐγὼ δὲ ἀκήκοα περὶ σοῦ λεγόντων ἀκούσαντά σε ἐνύπνια συγκρῖναι αὐτάGn 41:15
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”
16Gn 41:1616וַיַּ֨עַן יוֹסֵ֧ף אֶת־פַּרְעֹ֛ה לֵאמֹ֖ר בִּלְעָדָ֑י אֱלֹהִ֕ים יַעֲנֶ֖ה אֶת־שְׁל֥וֹם פַּרְעֹֽה׃Gn 41:16
¶Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It isn’t in me. God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”
Gn 41:16Gn 41:16ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ιωσηφ τῷ Φαραω εἶπεν ἄνευ τοῦ θεοῦ οὐκ ἀποκριθήσεται τὸ σωτήριον ΦαραωGn 41:16¶Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It isn’t in me. God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”without ªGod, salvation will not be answered to Pharaoh

¶Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dream of Pharaoh is one. What God is about to do he has declared to Pharaoh.
Gn 41:25Gn 41:25καὶ εἶπεν Ιωσηφ τῷ Φαραω τὸ ἐνύπνιον Φαραω ἕν ἐστιν ὅσα ὁ θεὸς ποιεῖ ἔδειξεν τῷ ΦαραωGn 41:25
¶Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dream of Pharaoh is one. What God is about to do he has declared to Pharaoh.
26Gn 41:2626שֶׁ֧בַע פָּרֹ֣ת הַטֹּבֹ֗ת שֶׁ֤בַע שָׁנִים֙ הֵ֔נָּה וְשֶׁ֤בַע הַֽשִּׁבֳּלִים֙ הַטֹּבֹ֔ת שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים הֵ֑נָּה חֲל֖וֹם אֶחָ֥ד הֽוּא׃Gn 41:26

and the plenty will not be known in the land by reason of that famine which follows; for it will be very grievous.

52Gn 41:5252וְאֵ֛ת שֵׁ֥ם הַשֵּׁנִ֖י קָרָ֣א אֶפְרָ֑יִם כִּֽי־הִפְרַ֥נִי אֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּאֶ֥רֶץ עָנְיִֽי׃Gn 41:52
The name of the second, he called Ephraim: “For God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.”

¶The seven years of plenty, that were in the land of Egypt, came to an end.

54Gn 41:5454וַתְּחִלֶּ֜ינָה שֶׁ֣בַע שְׁנֵ֤י הָרָעָב֙ לָב֔וֹא כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר אָמַ֣ר יוֹסֵ֑ף וַיְהִ֤י רָעָב֙ בְּכָל־הָ֣אֲרָצ֔וֹת וּבְכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם הָ֥יָה לָֽחֶם׃Gn 41:54
The seven years of famine began to come, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all lands, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
Gn 41:54Gn 41:54καὶ ἤρξαντο τὰ ἑπτὰ ἔτη τοῦ λιμοῦ ἔρχεσθαι καθὰ εἶπεν Ιωσηφ καὶ ἐγένετο λιμὸς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ ἐν δὲ πάσῃ γῇ Αἰγύπτου ἦσαν ἄρτοιGn 41:54

55Gn 41:5555וַתִּרְעַב֙ כָּל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּצְעַ֥ק הָעָ֛ם אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֖ה לַלָּ֑חֶם וַיֹּ֨אמֶר פַּרְעֹ֤ה לְכָל־מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לְכ֣וּ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף אֲשֶׁר־יֹאמַ֥ר לָכֶ֖ם תַּעֲשֽׂוּ׃Gn 41:55
When all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread, and Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph. What he says to you, do.”
Gn 41:55Gn 41:55καὶ ἐπείνασεν πᾶσα ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου ἐκέκραξεν δὲ ὁ λαὸς πρὸς Φαραω περὶ ἄρτων εἶπεν δὲ Φαραω πᾶσι τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις πορεύεσθε πρὸς Ιωσηφ καὶ ὃ ἐὰν εἴπῃ ὑμῖν ποιήσατεGn 41:55
When all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread, and Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph. What he says to you, do.”
56Gn 41:5656וְהָרָעָ֣ב הָיָ֔ה עַ֖ל כָּל־פְּנֵ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיִּפְתַּ֨ח יוֹסֵ֜ף אֶֽת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֤ר בָּהֶם֙ וַיִּשְׁבֹּ֣ר לְמִצְרַ֔יִם וַיֶּחֱזַ֥ק הָֽרָעָ֖ב בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃Gn 41:56
The famine was over all the surface of the earth. Joseph opened all the store houses, and sold to the Egyptians. The famine was severe in the land of Egypt.
Gn 41:56Gn 41:56καὶ ὁ λιμὸς ἦν ἐπὶ προσώπου πάσης τῆς γῆς ἀνέῳξεν δὲ Ιωσηφ πάντας τοὺς σιτοβολῶνας καὶ ἐπώλει πᾶσι τοῖς ΑἰγυπτίοιςGn 41:56

57Gn 41:5757וְכָל־הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ בָּ֣אוּ מִצְרַ֔יְמָה לִשְׁבֹּ֖ר אֶל־יוֹסֵ֑ף כִּֽי־חָזַ֥ק הָרָעָ֖ב בְּכָל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃Gn 41:57
All countries came into Egypt, to Joseph, to buy grain, because the famine was severe in all the earth.
Gn 41:57Gn 41:57καὶ πᾶσαι αἱ χῶραι ἦλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἀγοράζειν πρὸς Ιωσηφ ἐπεκράτησεν γὰρ ὁ λιμὸς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇGn 41:57
All countries came into Egypt, to Joseph, to buy grain, because the famine was severe in all the earth.
