Is 26:1Is 26:1τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ᾄσονται τὸ ᾆσμα τοῦτο ἐπὶ γῆς Ιουδα λέγοντες ἰδοὺ πόλις ὀχυρά καὶ σωτήριον ἡμῶν θήσει τεῖχος καὶ περίτειχοςIs 26:1¶In that day, this song will be sung in the land of Judah:¶
“We have a strong city. God appoints salvation for walls and bulwarks.In
that day they will sing this song in the land of Judah saying: ¶Behold
a strong city and he will arrange our salvation a wall and outer
Yes, in the way of your judgments, Yahweh, have we waited for you.
Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul.For the
way of the Lord is judgment, we hoped upon your name and your remembrance
Is 26:9Is 26:9ᾗ ἐπιθυμεῖ ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν ἐκ νυκτὸς ὀρθρίζει τὸ πνεῦμά μου πρὸς σέ ὁ θεός διότι φῶς τὰ προστάγματά σου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς δικαιοσύνην μάθετε οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆςIs 26:9With my soul have I desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit
within me will I seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the
earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.to
which our soul desires. In night my spirit eagerly seeks you Oh God
because your ordinancesᵇ are light upon the earth. Learn
righteousness all you dwelling upon (according to) the earth.
Is 26:10Is 26:10πέπαυται γὰρ ὁ ἀσεβής οὐ μὴ μάθῃ δικαιοσύνην ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀλήθειαν οὐ μὴ ποιήσῃ ἀρθήτω ὁ ἀσεβής ἵνα μὴ ἴδῃ τὴν δόξαν κυρίουIs 26:10Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn
righteousness. In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully, and
will not see Yahweh’s majesty.For the ungodly has been
ceased, he shall not learn righteousness upon the earth, he will not do
truthª. Let the ungodly be taken away in order that he should not behold
the glory of The Lord
Is 26:11Is 26:11κύριε ὑψηλός σου ὁ βραχίων καὶ οὐκ ᾔδεισαν γνόντες δὲ αἰσχυνθήσονται ζῆλος λήμψεται λαὸν ἀπαίδευτον καὶ νῦν πῦρ τοὺς ὑπεναντίους ἔδεταιIs 26:11Yahweh, your hand is lifted up, yet they don’t see; but they will see
your zeal for the people, and be disappointed. Yes, fire will consume your
adversaries.Lord, the arm of you is elevated and they had not
perceviedªᵇ, but upon knowingª they will be ashamed. Zeal will take hold
of an uninstructed people and now fire will devour the adversaries.
Is 26:12Is 26:12κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν εἰρήνην δὸς ἡμῖν πάντα γὰρ ἀπέδωκας ἡμῖνIs 26:12Yahweh, you will ordain peace for us, for you have also worked all
our works for us.Oh Lord Our God give us peace for you have
paid back (rendered) to us all things.
Is 26:13Is 26:13κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν κτῆσαι ἡμᾶς κύριε ἐκτὸς σοῦ ἄλλον οὐκ οἴδαμεν τὸ ὄνομά σου ὀνομάζομενIs 26:13Yahweh Lord our God, take possession of us;
other lords besides you have had dominion over us, but by you only will we
make mention of your nameOh Lord.outside of you we
have not known an other, we are naming your name
Is 26:14Is 26:14οἱ δὲ νεκροὶ ζωὴν οὐ μὴ ἴδωσιν οὐδὲ ἰατροὶ οὐ μὴ ἀναστήσωσιν διὰ τοῦτο ἐπήγαγες καὶ ἀπώλεσας καὶ ἦρας πᾶν ἄρσεν αὐτῶνIs 26:14The dead shall not live. The deceased shall not rise. Therefore have
you visited and destroyed them, and caused all memory of them to perish.The
dead shall not see life neither shall the healers (physicians) raise them
up because of this, you set upon and destroyed and took away all their men.
Is 26:15Is 26:15πρόσθες αὐτοῖς κακά κύριε πρόσθες κακὰ πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐνδόξοις τῆς γῆςIs 26:15You have increased the nation, O Yahweh. You have increased the
nation! You are glorified! You have enlarged all the borders of the land.Add
wickedness to them, Oh Lord, add wickedness to all those highly esteemed
in the earth.
Is 26:16Is 26:16κύριε ἐν θλίψει ἐμνήσθην σου ἐν θλίψει μικρᾷ ἡ παιδεία σου ἡμῖνIs 26:16Yahweh, in trouble they have visited you. They poured out a prayer
when your chastening was on them.Lord in tribulation I
remembered you; your instruction (chastisement) to us was by small
Is 26:17Is 26:17καὶ ὡς ἡ ὠδίνουσα ἐγγίζει τοῦ τεκεῖν καὶ ἐπὶ τῇ ὠδῖνι αὐτῆς ἐκέκραξεν οὕτως ἐγενήθημεν τῷ ἀγαπητῷ σου διὰ τὸν φόβον σου κύριεIs 26:17Like as a woman with child, who draws near the time of her delivery,
is in pain and cries out in her pangs; so we have been before you, Yahweh.and
like the one travailing approaches the time to give birth and in
her agony she cried out, thus we became your beloved because of the fear
of you, oh Lord.
Is 26:18Is 26:18ἐν γαστρὶ ἐλάβομεν καὶ ὠδινήσαμεν καὶ ἐτέκομεν πνεῦμα σωτηρίας σου ἐποιήσαμεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀλλὰ πεσοῦνται οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆςIs 26:18We have been with child. We have been in pain. We gave birth, it
seems, only to wind. We have not worked any deliverance in the earth;
neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.in belly we
conceived and travailed and gave birth. The spirit of your salvation we
made upon the earth but the ones dwelling upon the earthª will fail
Is 26:19Is 26:19ἀναστήσονται οἱ νεκροί καὶ ἐγερθήσονται οἱ ἐν τοῖς μνημείοις καὶ εὐφρανθήσονται οἱ ἐν τῇ γῇ ἡ γὰρ δρόσος ἡ παρὰ σοῦ ἴαμα αὐτοῖς ἐστιν ἡ δὲ γῆ τῶν ἀσεβῶν πεσεῖταιIs 26:19Your dead shall live. My dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, you
who dwell in the dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the
earth will cast forth the dead.The dead will be resurrected and
the ones in the tombs will stand and the ones in the ground will rejoice
for the dew that comes from you is healing to them but the ungodly will
Is 26:20Is 26:20βάδιζε λαός μου εἴσελθε εἰς τὰ ταμίειά σου ἀπόκλεισον τὴν θύραν σου ἀποκρύβηθι μικρὸν ὅσον ὅσον ἕως ἂν παρέλθῃ ἡ ὀργὴ κυρίουIs 26:20¶Come, my people, enter into your rooms, and shut your doors behind
you. Hide yourself for a little moment, until the indignation is past.Go
my people, enter into your storerooms shut your door and hide for a little
while until the indignation of The Lord has past.
Is 26:21Is 26:21ἰδοὺ γὰρ κύριος ἀπὸ τοῦ ἁγίου ἐπάγει τὴν ὀργὴν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνακαλύψει ἡ γῆ τὸ αἷμα αὐτῆς καὶ οὐ κατακαλύψει τοὺς ἀνῃρημένουςIs 26:21For, behold, Yahweh comes forth out of his place to punish the
inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose
her blood, and will no longer cover her slain.For behold The
Lord from His Holy place is bringing wrath upon the people dwelling
(according to) upon the earth and the earth will reveal her blood and will
not cover up the ones put to death.
