‘Curse Meroz,’ said the angel of Yahweh.
‘Curse bitterly its inhabitants,
because they didn’t come to help Yahweh,
to help Yahweh against the mighty.’

‘Curse bitterly its inhabitants,
because they didn’t come to help Yahweh,
to help Yahweh against the mighty.’
24Jgs 5:2424εὐλογηθείη ἐκ γυναικῶν Ιαηλ γυνὴ Χαβερ τοῦ Κιναίου ἐκ γυναικῶν ἐν σκηνῇ εὐλογηθείηJgs 5:24
“Jael shall be blessed above women,
the wife of Heber the Kenite;
blessed shall she be above women in the tent.

28Jgs 5:2828διὰ τῆς θυρίδος διέκυπτεν ἡ μήτηρ Σισαρα διὰ τῆς δικτυωτῆς ἐπιβλέπουσα ἐπὶ τοὺς μεταστρέφοντας μετὰ Σισαρα διὰ τί ἠσχάτισεν τὸ ἅρμα αὐτοῦ παραγενέσθαι διὰ τί ἐχρόνισαν ἴχνη ἁρμάτων αὐτοῦJgs 5:28
“Through the window she looked out, and cried:
Sisera’s mother looked through the lattice.
‘Why is his chariot so long in coming?
Why do the wheels of his chariots wait?’
Jgs 5:28Jgs 5:28בְּעַד֩ הַחַלּ֨וֹן נִשְׁקְפָ֧ה וַתְּיַבֵּ֛ב אֵ֥ם סִֽיסְרָ֖א בְּעַ֣ד הָֽאֶשְׁנָ֑ב מַדּ֗וּעַ בֹּשֵׁ֤שׁ רִכְבּוֹ֙ לָב֔וֹא מַדּ֣וּעַ אֶֽחֱר֔וּ פַּעֲמֵ֖י מַרְכְּבוֹתָֽיו׃Jgs 5:28

Her wise ladies answered her,
Yes, she returned answer to herself,
Jgs 5:29Jgs 5:29חַכְמ֥וֹת שָׂרוֹתֶ֖יהָ תַּעֲנֶ֑ינָּה אַף־הִ֕יא תָּשִׁ֥יב אֲמָרֶ֖יהָ לָֽהּ׃Jgs 5:29
Her wise ladies answered her,
Yes, she returned answer to herself,
30Jgs 5:3030οὐχὶ εὑρήσουσιν αὐτὸν διαμερίζοντα σκῦλα φιλιάζων φίλοις εἰς κεφαλὴν δυνατοῦ σκῦλα βαμμάτων Σισαρα σκῦλα βαμμάτων ποικιλίας βαφὴ ποικίλων περὶ τράχηλον αὐτοῦ σκῦλονJgs 5:30
‘Have they not found, have they not divided the spoil?
A lady, two ladies to every man;
to Sisera a spoil of dyed garments,
a spoil of dyed garments embroidered,
of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, on the necks of the spoil?’
Jgs 5:30Jgs 5:30הֲלֹ֨א יִמְצְא֜וּ יְחַלְּק֣וּ שָׁלָ֗ל רַ֤חַם רַחֲמָתַ֙יִם֙ לְרֹ֣אשׁ גֶּ֔בֶר שְׁלַ֤ל צְבָעִים֙ לְסִ֣יסְרָ֔א שְׁלַ֥ל צְבָעִ֖ים רִקְמָ֑ה צֶ֥בַע רִקְמָתַ֖יִם לְצַוְּארֵ֥י שָׁלָֽל׃Jgs 5:30

31Jgs 5:3131οὕτως ἀπόλοιντο πάντες οἱ ἐχθροί σου κύριε καὶ οἱ ἀγαπῶντες αὐτὸν καθὼς ἡ ἀνατολὴ τοῦ ἡλίου ἐν δυναστείαις αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡσύχασεν ἡ γῆ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτηJgs 5:31
“So let all your enemies perish, Yahweh,
but let those who love him be as the sun when it rises forth in its strength.”
¶Then the land had rest forty years.
