¶A meditation by David, which he sang to Yahweh, concerning the words of Cush, the Benjamite.
Ps 7:1Ps 7:1שִׁגָּי֗וֹן לְדָ֫וִ֥ד אֲשֶׁר־שָׁ֥ר לַיהוָ֑ה עַל־דִּבְרֵי־כ֝֗וּשׁ בֶּן־יְמִינִֽי׃Ps 7:0

2Ps 7:12κύριε ὁ θεός μου ἐπὶ σοὶ ἤλπισα σῶσόν με ἐκ πάντων τῶν διωκόντων με καὶ ῥῦσαί μεPs 7:1
Yahweh, my God, I take refuge in you.
Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
Ps 7:2Ps 7:2יְהוָ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהַי בְּךָ֣ חָסִ֑יתִי הוֹשִׁיעֵ֥נִי מִכָּל־רֹ֝דְפַ֗י וְהַצִּילֵֽנִי׃Ps 7:1
Yahweh, my God, I take refuge in you.
Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
3Ps 7:23μήποτε ἁρπάσῃ ὡς λέων τὴν ψυχήν μου μὴ ὄντος λυτρουμένου μηδὲ σῴζοντοςPs 7:2
lest they tear apart my soul like a lion,
ripping it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
Ps 7:3Ps 7:3פֶּן־יִטְרֹ֣ף כְּאַרְיֵ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֑י פֹּ֝רֵ֗ק וְאֵ֣ין מַצִּֽיל׃Ps 7:2
lest they tear apart my soul like a lion,
ripping it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
4Ps 7:34κύριε ὁ θεός μου εἰ ἐποίησα τοῦτο εἰ ἔστιν ἀδικία ἐν χερσίν μουPs 7:3
Yahweh, my God, if I have done this,
if there is iniquity in my hands,
Ps 7:4Ps 7:4יְהוָ֣ה אֱ֭לֹהַי אִם־עָשִׂ֣יתִי זֹ֑את אִֽם־יֶשׁ־עָ֥וֶל בְּכַפָּֽי׃Ps 7:3
Yahweh, my God, if I have done this,
if there is iniquity in my hands,
5Ps 7:45εἰ ἀνταπέδωκα τοῖς ἀνταποδιδοῦσίν μοι κακά ἀποπέσοιν ἄρα ἀπὸ τῶν ἐχθρῶν μου κενόςPs 7:4
if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me
(yes, if I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),
Ps 7:5Ps 7:5אִם־גָּ֭מַלְתִּי שֽׁוֹלְמִ֥י רָ֑ע וָאֲחַלְּצָ֖ה צוֹרְרִ֣י רֵיקָֽם׃Ps 7:4
if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me
(yes, if I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),
6Ps 7:56καταδιώξαι ἄρα ὁ ἐχθρὸς τὴν ψυχήν μου καὶ καταλάβοι καὶ καταπατήσαι εἰς γῆν τὴν ζωήν μου καὶ τὴν δόξαν μου εἰς χοῦν κατασκηνώσαι διάψαλμαPs 7:5

Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries.Be exulted in the borders of my enemies
Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.Arise, my God by the commandments which you commanded.

Arise, Yahweh, in your anger.
Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries.
Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.
8Ps 7:78καὶ συναγωγὴ λαῶν κυκλώσει σε καὶ ὑπὲρ ταύτης εἰς ὕψος ἐπίστρεψονPs 7:7
Let the congregation of the peoples surround you.
Rule over them on high.
Ps 7:8Ps 7:8וַעֲדַ֣ת לְ֭אֻמִּים תְּסוֹבְבֶ֑ךָּ וְ֝עָלֶ֗יהָ לַמָּר֥וֹם שֽׁוּבָה׃Ps 7:7

9Ps 7:89κύριος κρινεῖ λαούς κρῖνόν με κύριε κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου καὶ κατὰ τὴν ἀκακίαν μου ἐπ’ ἐμοίPs 7:8
YahwehThe Lord administers judgment to the peoples.
Judge me, YahwehLord, according to my righteousness,

Yahweh administers judgment to the peoples.
Judge me, Yahweh, according to my righteousness,
and to my integrity that is in me.
10Ps 7:910συντελεσθήτω δὴ πονηρία ἁμαρτωλῶν καὶ κατευθυνεῖς δίκαιον ἐτάζων καρδίας καὶ νεφροὺς ὁ θεόςPs 7:9
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,
but establish the righteous;
their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,
but establish the righteous;

My shield is with God,
who saves the upright in heart.

12Ps 7:1112ὁ θεὸς κριτὴς δίκαιος καὶ ἰσχυρὸς καὶ μακρόθυμος μὴ ὀργὴν ἐπάγων καθ’ ἑκάστην ἡμέρανPs 7:11
God is a righteous judge,
yes, a God who has indignation every day.
Ps 7:12Ps 7:12אֱ֭לֹהִים שׁוֹפֵ֣ט צַדִּ֑יק וְ֝אֵ֗ל זֹעֵ֥ם בְּכָל־יֽוֹם׃Ps 7:11
God is a righteous judge,
yes, a God who has indignation every day.
13Ps 7:1213ἐὰν μὴ ἐπιστραφῆτε τὴν ῥομφαίαν αὐτοῦ στιλβώσει τὸ τόξον αὐτοῦ ἐνέτεινεν καὶ ἡτοίμασεν αὐτὸPs 7:12
If a man doesn’t relent, he will sharpen his sword;
he has bent and strung his bow.
Ps 7:13Ps 7:13אִם־לֹ֣א יָ֭שׁוּב חַרְבּ֣וֹ יִלְט֑וֹשׁ קַשְׁתּ֥וֹ דָ֝רַ֗ךְ וַֽיְכוֹנְנֶֽהָ׃Ps 7:12

Ps 7:16Ps 7:16בּ֣וֹר כָּ֭רָֽה וַֽיַּחְפְּרֵ֑הוּ וַ֝יִּפֹּ֗ל בְּשַׁ֣חַת יִפְעָֽל׃Ps 7:15

17Ps 7:1617ἐπιστρέψει ὁ πόνος αὐτοῦ εἰς κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ κορυφὴν αὐτοῦ ἡ ἀδικία αὐτοῦ καταβήσεταιPs 7:16
The trouble he causes shall return to his own head.
His violence shall come down on the crown of his own head.
Ps 7:17Ps 7:17יָשׁ֣וּב עֲמָל֣וֹ בְרֹאשׁ֑וֹ וְעַ֥ל קָ֝דְקֳד֗וֹ חֲמָס֥וֹ יֵרֵֽד׃Ps 7:16
